Kingsley Cricket Club buy all their wines from Chester Beer & Wine. Whether it be for the Clubhouse bar or the special events we run through our season, CB&W are there to support us. The team offer us a tremendous variation of wines, deliver all the way to Kingsley (12 miles) and lend us glasses at no charge. We cannot fault their service and attention to detail. I’d like to thank you for hosting the wine tasting evening in aid of the Chester and District Scouts Jamboree Committee at Barrow Village Hall last week. Our night raised just under £1,000 towards their trip – the chance of a lifetime, so many thanks.

A number of people have approached me and also emailed me to comment on how much they enjoyed the evening. I thank you for sharing your knowledge, and I also thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for the subject – it was infectious. You spoke to people as a knowledgeable person who enjoys wine rather than an expert – they really enjoyed that, as they felt you were sharing your knowledge rather than lecturing them. They have all come away with a new view on wine – every single person there came away with some view or piece of knowledge which they didn’t have before you stood up. I also believe that you have given a number of people a confidence to ask questions about wine and also to ask more from their wine – they now know what they’re looking for.

We recently had a wine evening hosted by Sam from Chester Beer & Wine at Royal Chester Rowing Club. The love of the grape and her enthusiasm are as addictive, in a good way, as the gorgeous wines. Well worth a visit through their doors to break the habit of always reaching for the same old bottle. Great to know good service and depth of product knowledge are still flourishing and Local!
