Made from the Portuguese grapes Aragones & Touriga Nacional with some Syrah, this ‘Ciconia’ tinto from producer Herdade Sao Miguel is a great little wine from off the beaten track in the Alentejo (in the South, above the Algarve.)
The name Ciconia refers to a stork which is native to the Alentejo area of Portugal.
It has a dark inky colour and on the nose, plenty of rustic charm with dark fruits and vanilla oak.
Nice fruit and soft tannins in the mouth.
Great value for money & well worth a punt.
