Although Clos Galena are based in the excellent wine making region of Priorat, the ‘Secrets de Mar’ wines are labelled as ‘Mediterranean’ wines, rather than Priorat DOQ. As such, they are excellent value for money as Priorat wines will sell for high prices.
This lovely wine is made from 30 year old vines which give a low yield but a more concentrated flavour. The wine was fermented in stainless steel, but aged on the lees (the dead yeast) after fermentation for 2 months to give a fuller bodied wine with complex notes of brioche and toast.
It is straw yellow in colour, clean and bright. On the nose there are aromas of white fruit, floral and citrus notes in balance. Plenty of freshness & balanced acidity to keep it bright. An elegant, soft wine with richness.
Grape varieties – 70% Garnacha Blanca and 30% Macabeu.
