Old Dog Corn Liquor hails from the Henstone Distillery over in Shropshire, just outside of Birmingham. The spirit is distilled from a corn, wheat and barley mash which is then matured in new American oak casks for eight months. It’s named Old Dog after one of the many local coal mine shafts in the Morda valley. A brilliant English spirit that would do well as a replacement for bourbon in a cocktail…
Lots of caramel and spice, with hints of oak char, ripe tropical fruit and waxy vanilla.
The finish brings peppery oak and fragrant honey.
