Magpie Estate ‘Wishbone’ Shiraz Grenache 2016

Vintage: 2016

ABV: 13.5%

Size: 75cl

Magpie Estate is a joint venture, which began in 1993, between famous Barossa winemaker Rolf Binder and English wine merchant Noel Young. Both Rolf and Noel have a passion for Rhone varietals, and source their fruit from 15 long-favoured sites in the premium Northern Barossa. The range of wines all celebrate a superstitious theme, including the magpie.

The Wishbone has warm plum and raspberry fruit on the nose with hints of dusty earth, spice and violets. It’s big and full bodied with juicy plum and raspberry on the palate also, with black cherry, spice and a lick of creamy oak. It’s a generous juicy mouthful with bags of fruit and spice. A smooth creamy finish. A real cuddle in a glass.

Grape Varieties: Shiraz & Grenache
