Niepoort’s Crusted bottling is based on some of the highest quality ports from a range of vintage harvests. Only small lotes are blended from 100% foot trodden and granite-fermented fruit, often ports that were originally destined for Vintage Port, but didn’t quite make the grade.
Crusted port was originally made to please the English palate. It is a blend of harvests that has not been fined or filtered before it is bottled ,so it throws a sediment.
It is designed for drinking young and is all about figs, plums, prunes and bright red fruits.
